Mr. Kinzie’s background is in Sociology and Secondary Education with a professional emphasis supported by a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Master of Science in Psychology.

Mr. Kinzie brings twenty-five of classroom  teaching experience to your organization. He currently teaches Middle School Social Sciences in the Chicago Public Schools in Chicago, IL and The Avery Coonley School Summer Program in Downers Grove, IL. He also served as an Instructor for Northwestern University‚Äôs Center for Public Safety in Evanston, IL. His most recent consulting project developed video training materials for Calm Classroom facilitators in school-level and district-wide implementation. These materials are used in more than 600 schools across the Chicago Public Schools district and Area Network offices. Calm Classroom programs are also utilized throughout the Chicagoland suburban districts and as well as in Detroit, MI

Mr. Kinzie is a regular presenter at professional development conferences across the country. His most recent presentations in Austin, TX focused on supporting students with Attention Deficit-related diagnoses, integrating Trauma-Informed Teaching and Learning practices in lesson plan design, and adopting mindfulness and self-regulation practices into the school day.

In his spare time, he enjoys traveling with his family and playing African drums.
